Habitat: Occasional in a large bedrock outcrop complex atop a 100-foot ridge. Shallow detrital-organic soil over level to sloping granitic bedrock. Often growing amongst Cladina lichens. Full sun.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Danthonia spicata, Dichanthelium xanthophysum, D. linearifolium, Agrostis scabra, Agropyron trachycaulum, Selaginella rupestris, Antennaria neglecta, Woodsia ilvensis, Gaultheria procumbens, Sibbaldiopsis tridentata, Vaccinium angustifolium, Prunus susquehanae, Juniperus communis, Rhus glabra.
