Habitat: Frequent in a small shallow cove along the shoreline. Growing in water ~18-36 inches deep. Rooted in deep, soft, mucky-organic substrate. Plants entirely submerged, most with a reddish cast, many presenting as multi-stemmed tufts.
Associated Species: Associates include Najas flexilis, Potamogeton amplifolius, Chara sp.
