United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Along the shores of Basswood Lake in strongly rolling bedrock terrain 13 miles northeast of Ely; in the southeastern portion of Back Bay.

Habitat:
Local on a small islet. Loose patch of dozens of plants in level to gently sloping setting atop a ~0.1-acre island that rises ~12 feet out of the shallow bay. Rooted in detritus and silty sand amongst rocks and small boulders. Full sun to partial shade of small Betula papyrifera, and dead Pinus resinosa, P. strobus. Island is impacted by frequent wildlife use (especially Canada geese).
Associated Species:
Associates include Conyza canadensis, Hypericum majus, Agrostis scabra, Carex tonsa, Dichanthelium acuminatum, Parthenocissus inserta, Vaccinium angustifolium.
