Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; On the shores of Basswood Lake in rugged bedrock terrain 14 miles north-northeast of Ely; in the northeastern end of Jackfish Bay.

Elevation: 398 meters
Verbatim Elevation: 1305 feet
Habitat: Local on the bedrock shore near the tip of a 1/4-mile long point formed by a 80-foot high bedrock ridge jutting out into the lake. ~A dozen small clumps rooted along crevices or in thin moss and lichen mats over dry biotite schist bedrock (Vermilion Granite Complex). Sunny xeric setting ~5 feet above lake level.
Associated Species: Associates include Poa glauca, Agrostis scabra, Prunus susquehanae, Juniperus communis.
