Local on the bedrock shore near the tip of a 1/4-mile long point formed by a 80-foot high bedrock ridge jutting out into the lake. ~A dozen small clumps rooted along crevices or in thin moss and lichen mats over dry biotite schist bedrock (Vermilion Granite Complex). Sunny xeric setting ~5 feet above lake level.
