Occasional in a vernal ash swamp behind a fairly extensive sand beach on the western shore of the main body of the lake southwest of Washington Island. Interrupted canopy of Fraxinus nigra. Patchy understory of Alnus incana, Fraxinus nigra, and Ulmus americana. Wet mucky substrate, mostly in moister microsites between sedge clumps. Petals white, fairly large.
