Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Hubachek Wilderness Research Center; Along the shores of Fall Lake on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, in strongly rolling bedrock terrain five miles northeast of Ely. Local in Mukluk Bay.

Habitat: Frequent in coarse, dry, open sand on a gradually sloping beach, along the upper portion of the shoreline zone that has been exposed by receding water levels (lake is down ~30-36 inches from the early season high water mark). Also in more degraded sandy settings near the shore including a gravel driveway. Stems sprawling over the sand. In full sun most of the day (shaded in the evening).
Associated Species: Associates include Gnaphalium uliginosum, Persicaria hydropiper, Euphorbia maculata, Cyperus squarrosus.
