Habitat:
Occasional to frequent rather locally on the lower third of a very steep, 200-foot, north-facing bluff. Weakly-algific microsite in rich mesic hardwood forest. Small to large trees (to ~20 inches D.B.H.) in a patchy canopy with Tilia americana. Very rocky (dolomite) colluvial silt.
