Locality: United States, Minnesota, Todd, Rolling drumlin plain five miles northeast of Clarissa; on the nearly level lower portion of a broad drumlin south of County Road 22.

Habitat: Occasional in second-growth wet-mesic hardwood forest, in a broad ecotone between sedge meadow and mesic hardwood forest. Canopy dominated by Populus tremuloides, with occasional Fraxinus nigra, Quercus macrocarpa, and Tilia americana. Small and loose to very large and dense patches. Silty-clay with numerous stones.
Associated Species: Associates include Athyrium angustum, Matteuccia struthiopteris, Allium tricoccum, Anemone quinquefolia, Rubus pubescens, Galium aparine, Cicuta maculata, Asarum canadense, Lilium michiganense, Cryptotaenia canadensis, Carex leptonervia.
