Habitat:
Uncommon and local on low sandstone cliffs. In a small gorge along a ravine cutting into a steep, 220-foot, north-facing bluff, near the mouth of a large tributary valley entering from the east. Partial shade beneath mesic hardwood forest canopy. A couple small patches here. Rooted in thin moss mats on narrow sloping ledges, along crevices, and in shallow pockets of eroded sand.
