Locality: United States, Minnesota, Fillmore, Along a major tributary valley of Shattuck Creek, one mile west of Choice, eight miles south of Peterson.

Habitat: Infrequent on the narrow valley bottom between steep 200-foot bluffs. Rich mesic hardwood forest dominated by Tilia americana, Acer saccharum, Fraxinus nigra, Ulmus americana, U. thomasii, and Prunus serotina. Understory of Ulmus americana, U. thomasii, Carpinus caroliniana, Ostrya virginiana, and Viburnum lentago. Robust clumps in deep silt.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex blanda, C. jamesii, C. cephaloidea, Hydrophyllum virginianum, Erythronium albidum, Isopyrum biternatum, Laportea canadensis, Ranunculus recurvatus, Rudbeckia laciniata, Blephilia hirsuta, Phlox divaricata.
