Locality: United States, Minnesota, Fillmore, Along the lower reaches of Shattuck Creek, one mile west of Choice, eight miles south of Peterson.

Habitat: Local on the gently-sloping lower portion of a 240-foot, east-facing bluff. Rich maple-basswood forest dominated locally by large Tilia americana, Acer saccharum, and Quercus rubra. Understory includes Carpinus caroliniana, Ostrya virginiana, and Acer saccharum. Forming rather large and loose to rather dense patches. Fairly compacted silty soil with numerous earthworm castings.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex jamesii, C. hirtifolia, Isopyrum biternatum, Galium concinnum, Geum canadense, Erythronium albidum, Circaea lutetiana, Actaea rubra, Geranium maculatum.
