Habitat: Frequent to quite abundant on the river shore. Forming loose to dense patches in sandy and cobbly substrates. Fairly dry to quite moist settings, sometimes in shallow water. Stolons forming tangled mats in the denser patches. Yellow flowers. Full sun to partial shade of Salix interior, Acer saccharinum, and Fraxinus pennsylvanica.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex emoryi, Phalaris arundinacea, Taraxacum officinale, Salix interior.
