Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Strongly rolling bedrock terrain north of the Fernberg Road between the Moose Lake Road and Uncle Judas Creek, 16 miles east-northeast of Ely; on the boggy western shore of 13-acre Gem Lake.

Verbatim Elevation: 1430 feet
Habitat: Locally abundant in poor fen. Quaky saturated peat. Often in Sphagnum carpets, sometimes in shallow water (<3 inches deep). Forming dense patches in subtly lower and wetter depressions in a zone of low-statured vegetation that extends from the lake up to 30 yards inland in some spots. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex lasiocarpa, Xyris montana, Pogonia ophioglossoides, Sarracenia purpurea, Drosera rotundifolia, Myrica gale.
