Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Strongly rolling bedrock terrain north of the Fernberg Road, east of the Moose Lake Road, 16 miles east-northeast of Ely.

Elevation: 430 meters Verbatim Elevation: 1410 feet

Habitat: Locally common on the margin of a sedge meadow along Uncle Judas Creek. Forming small dense patches in an ecotonal (semi-terrestrial) setting at the edge of the mesic upland forest. Shaded beneath tall, dense Alnus incana. Soil is shallow, moist, loamy-organic over bedrock.

Associated Taxa: Associates include Carex stricta, Spinulum annotinum, Maianthemum canadense, Lycopus uniflorus, Rubus pubescens, R. strigosus, Spiraea alba.
