Habitat: Occasional in small calcareous fens in a heavily grazed pasture east of the highway. Series of degraded fens perched on the moderately steep mid-portion of a 50-foot, southwest-facing slope. Deep, saturated muck, raised slightly above the elevation of the adjacent slope. Loose clumps on sedge hummocks. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Glyceria striata, Carex sterilis, C. hysteracina, C. tetanica, C. stricta, C. prairea, Eleocharis erythropoda, Juncus arcticus, Schoenoplectus pungens, S. tabernaemontani, Solidago riddellii, Senecio aureus, Lobelia siphilitica, Lysimachia quadriflora.
