Habitat: Frequent in small calcareous fens in a heavily grazed pasture east of the highway. Series of degraded fens perched on moderately steep mid-portion of a 50-foot, southwest-facing slope. Deep, saturated muck, raised slightly above the elevation of the adjacent slope. Growing on sedge hummocks. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex sterilis, C. hysteracina, C. stricta, C. prairea, Eleocharis erythropoda, Schoenoplectus pungens, Juncus arcticus, Muhlenbergia mexicana, Glyceria striata, Solidago riddellii, Senecio aureus, Lobelia siphilitica.
