Habitat:
Frequent in small calcareous fens in a heavily grazed pasture east of the highway. Series of degraded fens perched on moderately steep mid-portion of a 50-foot, southwest-facing slope. Deep, saturated muck, raised slightly above the elevation of the adjacent slope. Growing on sedge hummocks. Full sun.
