Habitat:
Occasional in highly degraded wet meadow in a heavily grazed pasture east of the highway. Level valley bottomland along a small drainage, between moderately steep 50-foot slopes. Moist mucky-organic substrate, currently dry due to a late summer drought. Full sun. Bluish-purple flowers.

Associates include Bidens vulgata, Eupatorium perfoliatum, Persicaria maculosa, P. hydropiper, Lycopus americanus, Phalaris arundinacea, Carduus acanthoides, Cirsium arvense, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Aster novae-angliae.
