Seasonally wet swamp. Grey-brown clayey sand.
Rosetted perennial herb, ca. 1 cm in diameter, 6-8 cm in height. Stipular bud very smooth and elongated, similar in structure to D. leioblastus. Stipule lobe margins entire. Petioles and lamina orange or red. Inflorescence bearing 4-8 flowers. Flowers white with large red spots near petal bases. Styles 3, white, rod-shaped with constant diameter, bases often contort. Stamens very short. Pollen pale yelow.
