Locality: United States, Minnesota, Washington, On private land adjacent to Afton State Park on its northwest boundary
Habitat: deciduous woodland on slope previously a goat prairie;
Substrate: on calcareus hillside under bur oak close to bbase of tree;
Associated Species: Quercus macrocarpus, Populus deltoides, Juniperus virginiana, Rhamnus cathartica;
Description: Pileus convex, 50-85 mm, dark brown in center, fading toward margin; margin initially inrolled, becoming plane, becoming striate on margin; surface with patches of white tissue at most 4 mm in diameter; Flesh firm, white; odor farinaceous; Lamellae free, white, edges even, close to subdistant, lamellulae present, inner ends truncate; Stipe even, to tapering toward the apex; color white becoming flesh colored, not bruising; bulb present; 90-110 mm to base of bulb, 15-20 mm thick; bulb 20-25 mm at broadest point; Flesh white, solid becoming hollow; bulb remaining solid; Annulus membranous, bulb with an annular ring at its apex; Spore deposit white, spores 8-9 x 7-8 microns (N=4.
