Habitat: At the upland edge of a black ash swamp. Habitat
Substrate: In moist sandy loam.
Associated Species: Dominated by Fraxinus nigra and Populus tremuloides. Other ferns collected here include: Athyrium filix-femina var. angustum, Dryopteris carthusiana.
