In a wet seepy habitat occupying a narrow strip between the Mississippi River and the base of an adjacent forested bluff. Partially shaded by
overhanging Tilia americana and Pinus strobus. Associated with Leersia virginica, Myosotis scorpioides, Symplocarpus foetidus, Scutellaria lateriflora.
