Habitat: Dry-mesic forest dominated by Pinus strobus with occasional Populus grandidentata. Sparse understory of Pinus strobus. Occasional Juniperus communis in shrub layer.
Associated Species: Osmorhiza claytonii, Chimaphila umbellata, Dryopteris carthusiana.
