Habitat: Dry gravel prairie of ancient Glacial Lake Agassiz beach ridge. Area dominated by Hesperostipa curtiseta, Hesperostipa spartea, Poa pratensis, Dichanthelium sp., Echinacea angustifolium.
Substrate: Gravel, sand.
Associated Species: Dalea purpurea, Lithospermum canescens, Echinacea angustifolia, Drymocallis arguta, Potentilla pensylvanica, Amorpha canescens, Ratibida columnifera, Achillea millefolium, Hesperostipa comata, Delphinium carolinianum.
