Habitat:
Local and occasional on transition between mesic hardwood forest and tamarack swamp. Canopy dominated by younger Betula papyrifera, Acer rubrum, Populus tremuloides. Shrub layer with Betula papyrifera, Vaccinium angustifolium.
Substrate:
Rich organic loam.
Associated Species:
Eurybia macrophylla, Cornus canadensis, Lonicera sp., Carex intumescens, Pteridium aquilinum, Clintonia borealis, Quercus rubra seedlings.
Description:
Plants in a few small patches over 2m x 10m area.
