Scattered on transition between mesic hardwood forest and tamarack swamp. Canopy dominated by younger Betula papyrifera, Larix laricina, Acer rubrum, Populus tremuloides. Shrub layer with Betula papyrifera, Vaccinium angustifolium.
Rich organic loam.
Coptis trifolia, Cornus canadensis, Eurybia macrophylla, Diervilla lonicera, Viburnum rafinesquianum.
