Habitat: Scattered and common in northern forest dominated by Betula papyrifera and Abies balsamea. Steep east-facing slope above the pool. Shrub layer with Populus tremuloides and Acer spicata.
Substrate: Loam.
Associated Species: Aralia nudicaulis, Eurybia macrophylla, Oryzopsis asperifolia, Cornus canadensis.
Description: Patch 10m x 20m.
