Habitat: Apparently rare and local above creek. In mesic to dry-mesic hardwood forest dominated by Quercus rubra, Tilia americana, and Carya cordiformis. Shrub layer Ostrya virginiana, Acer rubrum, Carpinus caroliniana.
Associated Species: Diphasiastrum digitatum, Osmorhiza claytonii, Uvularia sessilifolia, Trillium grandiflorum, Carex pensylvanica.
