Habitat: Rare to occasional on dry hill prairie, near crest of slope. Prairie dominated by Hesperostipa spartea, Schizachyrium scoparium, Bouteloua curtipendula and Andropogon gerardii.
Substrate: Gravel.
Associated Species: Liatris aspera, Dalea purpurea, Solidago altissima, Solidago speciosa, Pediomelum esculentum, Echinacea angustifolia, Galium boreale, Carex sp., Comandra umbellata.
