Habitat: Common and local in transition zone between northern mesic hardwood forest dominated by Populus tremuloides with Acer rubrum, Betula papyrifera in subcanopy and Alnus incana thicket.
Associated Species: Rubus pubescens, Cornus canadensis, Rubus idaeus, Alnus incana, Equisetum arvense.
