Habitat: Common in dry gravel prairie on Glacial Lake Agassiz beach ridge. Prairie dominated by Schizachyrium scoparium, Hesperostipa spartea, Hesperostipa curtiseta, and Hesperostipa comata.
Substrate: Gravel, sand.
Associated Species: Echinacea angustifolia, Artemisia ludoviciana, Heterotheca villosa, Ratibida columnifera, Erigeron strigosus, Dalea purpurea, Prunus pumila.
