Habitat: Common to locally dominant in northern rich fen dominated by Carex prairea, Carex lasiocarpa, Calamagrostis canadensis, Thelypteris palustris. Cornus sericea, Ribes hirtellum and Salix spp. occasional.
Substrate: Peat.
Associated Species: Comarum palustre, Bidens trichosperma, Carex interior, Carex lasiocarpa.
