Habitat:
Frequent in a large granitic outcrop complex atop an 80-foot bedrock ridge. Forming loose patches in shallow detrital-organic soil over bedrock, often amongst Cladina lichens. Mostly in full sun (to partial shade of scattered Pinus banksiana). Level to sloping settings.
