United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Fairly rugged bedrock terrain north of Jackfish Bay, Basswood Lake, 14 miles north-northeast of Ely, southwest of Hube Lake.

Habitat:
Occasional to locally abundant, forming small dense patches in a narrow strip of poor fen on the shores of a tiny (1/4-acre) bog pond. Very quaky wet peat. Occurring at the water's edge, and extending outward to ~15 feet away from the shoreline in spots. Continuous Sphagnum carpets. Full sun.
Associated Species:
Associates include Rhynchospora alba, Carex limosa, Dulichium arundinaceum, Eriophorum virginicum, Scheuchzeria palustris, Drosera rotundifolia, Chamaedaphne calyculata.
