Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Along the banks of the Basswood River 1/2 mile downstream from Basswood Falls, 16 miles north-northeast of Ely.

Verbatim Elevation: 1290feet
Habitat: Local, small patches on low bedrock finger extending into a small riverine bay and rising 3-4 feet above the water. Shallow, moist, loamy, detrital soil over level to gently sloping granite, ~18-36 inches above the water, at the upper end of a narrow zone that is typically inundated earlier in the season. Full sun to partial shade of small Fraxinus pennsylvanica.
Associated Species: Associates include Viola xprimulifolia, V. lanceolata, Euthamia graminifolia, Dichanthelium acuminatum, Deschampsia cespitosa, Carex katahdinensis, Prunus susquehanae, Spiraea alba, Salix petiolaris.
