Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Fairly rugged bedrock terrain 12 miles north-northeast of Ely, in the southern third of Fourtown Lake.

Habitat: Fairly rugged bedrock terrain 12 miles north-northeast of Ely. Locally common on a group of low bedrock islets. Forming small, dense patches in shallow water and moist settings not far above the current lake level (which is down ~18 inches from the early season high mark). Rooted in detritus along moist and sometimes rather broad bedrock crevices, and in shallow lenses of gravel over the rounded and gently-sloping granitic rock. Also in a few of the small rock pools nearby that are perched slightly above the lake level. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Eriocaulon aquaticum, Elatine minima, Glyceria borealis.
