Habitat:
Very local. Small patch of 25-30 small, cespitose plants on a fairly large (~25 square foot) chunk of floating peat that is pushed up against the boggy shoreline (a shore fen) of the slack water flowage. Growing on wet, exposed peat at and just above the water level. Full sun.

Associates include Juncus brevicaudatus, Dulichium arundinaceum, Nymphaea odorata, Utricularia intermedia.
