Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Strongly rolling bedrock terrain 11 miles north-northeast of Ely, between Horse and Tin Can Mike Lakes.

Habitat: Local near the margins of a small (1.5-acre) bog pond, in the center of a 20-acre wetland basin. Several small patches here in poor sedge fen (shore fen). Wet buoyant peat. Continuous Sphagnum carpets. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex rostrata, C. lasiocarpa, Menyanthes trifoliata, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Andromeda glaucophylla.
