Local on the shore of a small island. Forming loose to dense patches in shallow silty gravel over nearly level granitic bedrock, ~4-6 inches above the water (the lake is down ~16 inches from the early season high mark). Full sun. Several additional plants encountered very locally in a few other rocky shoreline settings on this lake.
Associates include Carex viridula, C. lenticularis, Juncus pelocarpus, J. filiformis, Ranunculus flammula, Eriocaulon aquaticum, Hypericum boreale, H. majus, Euthamia graminifolia, Lysimachia terrestris, Lycopus uniflorus, Triadenum fraseri.
