Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Along the Moosecamp River between Moosecamp and Fourtown Lakes, in rolling to fairly rugged bedrock terrain 13 miles north-northeast of Ely.

Habitat: Common to abundant along much of this ~2.5-mile long slack-water flowage. Water depth varies from ~2-4 feet. The substrate is mostly unconsolidated organics. The floating leaves of this species often cover much of the water's surface. Subtle current. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Nuphar variegata, Nymphaea tuberosa, Potamogeton gramineus, Utricularia vulgaris, Sparganium emersum, Sagittaria rigida.
