United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Along the Moosecamp River between Moosecamp and Fourtown Lakes, in rolling to fairly rugged bedrock terrain 13 miles north-northeast of Ely.

Habitat:
Common to abundant along much of this ~2.5-mile long slack-water flowage. Water depth varies from ~2-4 feet. The substrate is mostly unconsolidated organics. The floating leaves of this species often cover much of the water's surface. Subtle current. Full sun.

Associates include Nuphar variegata, Nymphaea tuberosa, Potamogeton gramineus, Utricularia vulgaris, Sparganium emersum, Sagittaria rigida.
