United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Along the Moosecamp River flowage between Moosecamp and Fourtown Lakes, in fairly rugged bedrock terrain 13 miles north-northeast of Ely.

Habitat:
Quite local on the lower third of an extremely steep, 100-foot, north-facing slope which overlooks the narrow stream valley. A fairly dense patch on a sloping bench perched midway up a 40-foot high granitic cliff. Shaded by Picea mariana, Pinus strobus, and Betula papyrifera. In moss carpets (Ptilium crista-castrensis, Pleurozium schreberi, Dicranum sp.). Shallow, silty detritus (with boulders) over bedrock. Sprawling shrubs, to ~3 feet tall.
