United States, Minnesota, Lake, Hubachek Wilderness Research Center. Along the northern shore of Fall Lake, in strongly rolling bedrock terrain 3 miles northeast of Winton, 5.5 miles northeast of Ely. In Mukluk Bay, near the barge dock and boat house.

Locally common. Rooted in gravel, in a portion of the bay that was filled in ~30 years ago. (This area had previously been similar to the rest of the shallow, mucky bay. The source of the gravelly fill was a nearby esker.) Full sun. The low-statured vegetation here is regularly mowed, occasionally cropped by Canada geese, and frequently driven upon.
