Habitat: Uncommon and very local, scattered plants in the trail right-of-way, on the lower portion of the gently-sloping, 10-foot high base of the trail grade. Small strip of mesic prairie. Full sun. Deep, black loam.
Associated Species: Associates include Andropogon gerardii, Schizachrium scoparium, Sorghastrum nutans, Sporobolus heterolepis, Poa pratensis, Coreopsis palmata, Symphyotrichum oolentangiense, Veronicastrum virginicum, Hypoxis hirsuta, Fragaria virginiana, Zizia aptera, Amorpha nana.
