Locality: United States, Minnesota, Stearns, Along the Lake Wobegon bike trail (old Great Northern Railroad grade) in fairly rugged forested moraine two miles west of Avon, three miles southeast of Albany. On the south side of the trail, just west of Peach Drive.

Habitat: Locally abundant in a small (~1-acre) wetland basin. Forming the dominant cover in an emergent marsh. Loose to quite dense patch in water up to ~18 inches deep. Mostly in full sun.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Spirodela polyrhiza, Lemna turionifera, Utricularia vulgaris, Phalaris arundinacea, Riccia fluitans.
