United States, Minnesota, Stearns, Along the Lake Wobegon bike trail (old Great Northern Railroad grade) in fairly rugged forested moraine two miles west of Avon, three miles southeast of Albany. On the south side of the trail, just west of Peach Drive.

Locally abundant in a small (~1-acre) wetland basin. Floating on the surface of the water in an emergent marsh dominated by Bolboschoenus fluviatile. Mostly in full sun.
Additional associates include Spirodela polyrhiza, Utricularia vulgaris, Phalaris arundinacea, Riccia fluitans.
