Habitat:
Local, scattered plants in oak savanna on narrow ridge spur atop an extremely steep, south-facing bluff. Partial shade beneath patchy canopy of Populus grandidentata, Tilia americana, Quercus macrocarpa, Q. alba, and Juniperus virginiana. Gentle southeast-facing slope. Silty soil. Amongst dense carpets of Carex pensylvanica.
