Habitat:
Quite local on a narrow ridge spur, atop an extremely steep, south-facing bluff. Oak savanna. Patchy canopy of Quercus alba, Q. macrocarpa, Populus grandidentata, Tilia americana, and Juniperus virginiana. Partial shade. Small but dense patches on a gentle to fairly steep southeast-facing slope, atop dry dolomite cliffs. Silty soil.
