Locality: United States, Minnesota, Fillmore, Rugged forested terrain along the South Fork Root River, 1/2 mile southwest of Choice, nine miles southeast of Lanesboro, ~1/3-mile downstream from the mouth of Shattuck Creek.

Habitat: Frequent locally on a narrow ridge spur atop an extremely steep, south-facing bluff. Oak savanna with a patchy canopy of Juniperus virginiana, Quercus macrocarpa, Q. rubra, and Populus grandidentata. Gentle to moderately steep southeast-facing slope. Silty soil. Ray flowers white to light bluish-white.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex pensylvanica, Danthonia spicata, Solidago ulmifolia, Commandra umbellata, Amphicarpaea bracteata, Potentilla simplex, Galium boreale, Liparis liliifolia, Krigia biflora, Hypoxis hirsuta, Juniperus communis.
