Habitat: Infrequent to occasional on sandstone buttes known locally as the Camel's Back, especially on the moderately steep middle portion of north- to east-facing slopes of the 100-foot high buttes. Dry prairie degraded by past grazing. Silty sand. Loose patches; dozens of plants. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Geum triflorum, Anemone patens, Equisetum arvense, Heuchera richardsonii, Viola pedatifida, Antennaria howellii, Poa pratensis, Festuca trachyphylla.
