Locality: United States, Minnesota, Olmsted, On the east side of U.S. Highway 63, south of County Road 21, eight miles north of downtown Rochester.

Habitat: Infrequent and quite local on sandstone buttes known locally as the Camel's Back. Scattered plants on the fairly steep upper north-facing slope of one of three 100-foot high buttes. Dry prairie degraded by past grazing. Silty sand. Full sun to partial shade of Juniperus virginiana. In ground layer dominated by Festuca trachyphylla.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Zigadenus elegans, Viola pedatifida, Geum triflorum, Campanula rotundifolia, Anemone patens, Achillea millefolium, Melilotus officinalis, Poa pratensis.
