Locality: United States, Minnesota, Stearns, St. Wendel "Bog". Large peatland complex between County Roads 3 & 4. Strongly rolling till plain five miles north-northwest of St. Joseph.

Habitat: Infrequent to occasional in tamarack swamp. Patchy to quite open canopy of mature Larix laricina; abundant snags due to tree mortality in past ~10-15 years. Patchy understory of Ulmus americana, Betula papyrifera, and Alnus incana. Partial shade. Firm to buoyant wet peat.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex interior, C. leptalea, C. hysteracina, Aster puniceus, Senecio aureus, Cirsium muticum, Cypripedium reginae, Platanthera aquilonis, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Mitella nuda, Ribes triste, Rhamnus alnifolia, Cornus stolonifera, Toxicodendron rydbergii.
